ESPN: Week 15 DFS Matchups

At ESPN Insider, some of our favorite Week 15 DFS matchups include Drew Brees, Carlos Hyde, Josh Gordon, and Jason Witten. We're also going heavy on the big names in Patriots-Steelers.

Each week I will recap the picks I made in the previous week's column to gauge the accuracy of my advice. References to rankings are from DraftKings for that player's position.

Cam Newton (fade) - that late 62-yard run saved Newton's fantasy day from being a total bust, but he still only finished as QB18 with 15.48 FPT.

LeSean McCoy - we actually had 12 running backs score at least 24 FPT this week, and McCoy was the low man in that group with 24.6 FPT, but he was still worth having on your roster. His game-winning touchdown in overtime certainly helped.

Rex Burkhead - he only got 10 touches in a shockingly bad performance by the Patriots, but Burkhead was still a solid value pick with 16.3 FPT.

Davante Adams - this was another week where the two best wideouts in the game right now (Antonio Brown and DeAndre Hopkins) were the two best in fantasy as well. However, Adams was still WR4 after scoring two touchdowns and 30.4 FPT.

Mike Evans (fade) - when I pick a stud WR to fade, I do it because I expect they may only finish with something like five catches for 60 yards. That 11 FPT isn't good enough for the salary you're using on them. I was really surprised to see Evans only grab two passes for 25 yards in his second-straight dud (4.5 FPT).

Alex Smith - the Chiefs found their offense again, but it wasn't a pretty fantasy day for Smith. His 12.12 FPT didn't even top Derek Carr's garbage-time effort of 12.44 FPT.

Blaine Gabbert - taking a chance didn't work out this week. Gabbert's team got the win, but he only had 8.32 FPT in the 12-7 final.

Leonard Fournette (fade) - he finished with 24.9 FPT in a surprisingly strong performance from the Jaguars against that famed Seattle defense. Fournette's final carry pushed him over 100 yards for that extra boost in points.

Tyreek Hill - he had 11.5 FPT as that big touchdown play didn't come for Alex Smith and this offense.

Martavis Bryant - thought he might have good value with JuJu Smith-Schuster out, but only 9.3 FPT as the Steelers filled that void with 14 completions to tight ends Jesse James and Vance McDonald.

Cameron Brate - well I nailed the Mike Evans fade, Jameis Winston also had a hard time getting Brate involved. He finished with only 2.1 FPT on one catch.

Kyle Rudolph (fade) - I botched the tight ends this week. Rudolph caught a nice touchdown to give him 13.1 FPT (TE10).
