I think "slim pickings" defines the content this column. (Don't feel bad, Mr. Macey, you didn't have much with which to work.) If your team still needs something, you'd better hope for a miracle or some UDFA to play like a first-round draft pick--or, in other words, a different miracle.

Maybe if Revis holds out long enough, the Jets will sign his mentor (and one-time Jet),Ty Law. And just to make Revis angry, they'll let Law wear his old #24.

Wouldn't either Harper or Law still be good enough to start for the Lions?

Then again, even this season, unemployment may be better than that particular job.

I'm glad of the news given by the ESPN. At least there are still best veteran free agents left on the market.
