Some of the article is accurate, but to attribute the 10 win season of 2010 to 'age' is completely wrong.

It was all on the injuries, and as the article pointed out, the 'old' guys on the DL actually played all 16 games. The only 'old' guy who got hurt was Clark who had a freakish wrist injury.

Saying that Indy is getting old at the core is defensible. Arguing that it showed up last year is not.

I haven't read the article, so I may be missing your point, but don't you think age-related decline from Saturday and (especially) Diem was a factor in 2010?

You can't really prognosticate when great teams are done. They let you know. Generally speaking, it's not some slow slide into irrelevancy; they hit the wall and go down hard.

Now, there's a question of whether the Colts are still Super Bowl contenders. I think they are, mainly because I don't think the Steelers, Pats, Ravens, Jets, and Chargers have done enough to make any game between them and the Colts anything more than a push. However, I could see arguments against it.

The Colts will, at worst, limp along to the end of Manning's career and we'll recognize that 2009 was their last shot at a title. Or, maybe Castonzo, Ijalana, and Carter reinvigorate the Colts offense and bring the running game back, and Manning goes on an Elway-esque run late in his career.

With Peyton manning throwing the ball he makes receivers what they are. I mean is this guy on crack? With the new big bodies helping the run game Peyton will dominate. He never gets any help from the run forcing him to pick apart defenses which will take time I think this year will be their year. Manning clark and collie will be the hot names this year. Clark and collie were both top 3 in either yards or td before they went out on injury. And had they not been injured the jets would have lost that playoff game I mean they only beat us by a fg .
