I like the format of this rundown.

The big question is, "What Will Schottenheimer Do?"

Nice work Mike.

If I were a decent human being, I'd just say: "Nice work, Mike." But I'm a jagoff, so I'm going to add this as well: "If I become the highest-profile NFL supporter of FO, will its writers misspell my name in major media pieces, too?"

Grrrr....Mr. Schwartz is gonna send Keith Bulluck after me.

"rookie CB Pacman Jones, who is a heck of a defender, but isn't ready to run this gauntlet, and may end up with burn marks on his asteroids."

Hehe, clever.

And yes, I'm a geek for noticing this. I wouldn't have if not for the asteroids comment.

Seriously though, good writeup, always nice to see the FO crew pop up elsewhere.

Another correction - Paul Hackett (who I can't imagine would be considered for any head coaching job) is the TB QB coach, not offensive coordinator.

Best line in that piece: "The Niners' highlight film against the Eagles was so short that the FCC officially labeled it a subliminal message."

Nice job.

RE: Falcons at Bills
"With Michael Vick's status in doubt, this game may devolve into a battle between Atlanta backup Matt Schaub and Buffalo's J.P. Losman"

It should be windy and there is a very good chance of rain so I don't think we have to worry about a shootout between Schaub and Losman. I think the key is how Atlanta's run game matches up with Buffalo's run defense.

"In other words, this could be a defense-and-turnovers game."

I'm hoping for that since I think that plays to Buffalo's advantage. The Bills don't win unless they put the offense in field goal range and even then the offense tries to make it exciting by only getting field goals. This is the same story as last year. Their first two games this year are a microcosm of last season. Fly or die based on how many times the defense puts you in opponents territory.

Heck, he would even play in that super-powered hospital bed from Roujin Z if he had to.

An anime reference in a football column? Wow. I applaud you, sir.
