Aaron Curry -- Safe at Home, Part 2

The conclusion of the Washington Post feature on the player Charley Casserly of the NFL Network called "the best linebacker to come out of the draft in the last 10 years" covers the Senior Bowl, Combine, NFL team interests, and how he might look as a 3-4 edge rusher.

Aaron Curry -- Safe at Home, Part 1

You're not supposed to get your best-ever college AND pro interview subjects in the same week, but that's what happened to me in mid-March when I talked to former Rams safety Corey Chavous for this FO article, and Wake Forest linebacker Aaron Curry for the Washington Post. Brandon Pettigrew: More than Stats

This week's pre-draft player profile for the Washington Post focuses on Oklahoma State's Brandon Pettigrew, the one elite block-and-catch tight end in a draft class full of pure blockers and vertical "big receivers" in spread offenses. Darius Butler: Ready for Prime Time

This is the first in a weekly series of draft prospect profiles I'll be doing for the Washington Post's "PreDraft" section. In this one, I talk to UConn cornerback Darius Butler about why he was overlooked as a Florida high school player, how he overcame that slight elsewhere, and how he came to be involved in Deion Sanders' "Prime U" project.

Here's a piece I did for the Washington Post's PreDraft section about the Wildcat, Dirty Bird, Flash, etc., and how different formation ideas in the NFL may benefit players like Pat White. Bonus: Sub-Tanier play diagrams included!

Harrell's Folly: The Spread Offense in the NFL

Here's a piece I wrote for the Washington Post's new PreDraft section about Texas Tech quarterback Graham Harrell and the difficulties he may face in the NFL. Thanks to Greg Cosell, who I caught up with at the Combine, for his time and insight on this one.

Smarter Stats: The Worst Winners

This week's Washington Post column uses Pro Football Reference's Expected Wins, which does a Pythagorean projection for all Super Bowl teams going back to the Packers and Chiefs in 1966, to spot the five biggest disparities between Super Bowl winners with lower Estimated Wins than the teams they beat.
