Patriot Gains

It seems like the Patriots are rotating a thousand different skill players around Randy Moss and Wes Welker. Are any of them useful for your fantasy team? Mike Tanier investigates.

So, is an article coming here or what?

Link works fine for me.

I'll save you FF guys all some time: The implication is strongly, no. If a guy is not named Moss or Welker, his scoring potential is quite marginal because of use patterns and role sharing.

You might want to add Hernandez to the "add" list. He'll be good for at least 60 yards a game.

Last week, due to their opponent, I started Brady, Welker, BJGE, and Hernandez. Welker scored the fewest of the four, yet I won handily. Nothing wrong with the New England offense, especially vs. a weak defense.

Green-Ellis rushed 15 times for 98 yards and a touchdown last week, but that production comes with a major caveat. Green-Ellis carried the ball just twice in the first half, then rushed nine times in the fourth quarter as the Patriots tried to deflate the ball in a blowout win.

Come on Mike. That game was within 8 points most of the time, and Buffalo had the lead on multiple occasions. Nothing resembling a blowout except for the brief seconds after the Patriots scoring a touchdown and Spiller returning the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown. The Patriots ran the ball repeatedly because Buffalo couldn't stop it. It would have been better for your caveat to read that Fred Taylor left the game with turf toe, opening up additional carries for Green-Ellis that might not be there week-to-week.

The interesting thing I think was how high BJGE is on the FO RB stats.

Not likely to be so high once opponent adjustments kick in. Unfortunately he only gets to play Buffalo's swiss cheese run defence just once more this season.
