The Houston Texans kicked off the year looking like they would prove every prognosticator wrong for doubting them, but then Davis Mills entered the picture. Mills put up an abysmal performance against the Buffalo Bills, with the Texans posting an offensive passing DVOA of -201.7%. Mills rebounded with a decent showing against the New England Patriots, but special teams blunders and a second-half collapse handed Houston the loss. The Texans defense, however, is certainly holding their own. Their worst performance of the year ended with a 7.5% defensive DVOA against the Bills, but even that should have been enough to keep Houston closer than the 40-0 finish it ended up being. Thins should at least get much more manageable for Houston going forward. Their past schedule ranks 7th hardest by our measurement, while their future schedule falls all the way to 28th. – Cale Clinton
