Baltimore's historic injury woes cratered their season, but the team recognized that there was more to the lack of success in 2021 than just ouchies. The Ravens needed a fresh wave of young talent, and boy did they get it--except it one crucial area. Free agent safety Marcus Williams signed to move from New Orleans, and the team used all 11 of its draft picks, including six (!) fourth-rounders. Another safety, Kyle Hamilton, and center Tyler Linderbaum highlight the enormous class of rookies. But the team traded Marquise Brown, its lone proven deep threat, and the passing game remains a question mark after another analytically so-so season from Lamar Jackson. Meanwhile, Jackson's contract status looms over the team for as long as it takes to secure his services going forward. Baltimore should rebound from its 2021 nightmare, but it may not be quite the championship contender we expected last year before the carnage.
